Description

An Earth Day parade at Sunnyside K-8 in Southeast Portland in 2025. Multiple teachers there were told in the waning hours of the just-concluded school year that they were being laid off.

Around 80 Portland Public Schools teachers got official word that they were being laid off from the state’s largest school district last Thursday, with just hours left in the school year.
