On Monday, Aug. 28, 2025, U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, D-Oregon, met with members of the Port of Portland's incoming mass-timber research campus.

A marine terminal that once shipped Oregon’s wood and steel will soon research and manufacture mass-timber in an effort to ease Oregon’s housing costs and address the state’s housing shortage.
