Description

Portland fire crews said one resident of the North Portland Road safe rest village died Monday when their sleeping pod caught fire.

A sleeping pod at a North Portland alternative shelter turned into “a mass of burning material that was about 30 feet tall” on Monday evening, according to Rick Graves, a spokesperson for the Portland Fire Bureau.
