Sunshine Dixon and S. Renee Mitchell in the front area of the Soul Restoration Center. Affixed to the wall behind them are handwritten and heartfelt testimonials from community members who wrote about what the space means to them.

The Soul Restoration Center, a colorful cultural and community hub for Black Portland, is closing this month after losing its lease in the historic Albina Arts building in Northeast Portland, founder S. Renee Mitchell said.
