Description

A 10-month-old girl’s death in Kentucky is drawing renewed attention to a danger that can develop with little warning: Infants and young children can become dangerously ill when exposed to extreme heat, particularly inside a parked vehicle. Federal health officials say children depend on adults to keep them cool and hydrated, while pediatric experts note that children are less able than adults to regulate their body temperature.
