Description
Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center has an opening for a PRN Ultrasonographer II. The Ultrasonographer II performs various ultrasound procedures according to the physician’s orders, utilizing knowledge and judgment in regard to providing diagnostic sonography services along with other clinical duties and patient treatment. The Ultrasonographer II performs general and vascular ultrasound and echocardiogram procedures and utilizes equipment producing two-dimensional high-frequency sound waves to create diagnostic images of the human body for use in the diagnosis of disease or organ malfunctions. The candidate must be able to work independently and take direction from radiologists and physicians. This position reports to the manager of the Medical Imaging Department.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program required.
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program is required.
- RDMS certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB/GYN, vascular, echo.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
- Experience with Radiology Information Systems, PACS, and electronic medical records.
- BLS/CPR Certification is required.
- Strong computer skills and ability to follow established departmental procedures.
- Minimum of two years of previous experience in the appropriate field of Sonography is preferred.
