Description
Valley Art Association is happy to host the 36th Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival returning on Saturday, September 19th, 8 am - 4 pm. This popular community event is open to all ages and skill levels. Hundreds of sidewalk squares are decorated throughout downtown Forest Grove, many by families who have participated across several decades. Everyone is encouraged to participate and stroll through the streets to see each square come to life, while enjoying entertainment, a balloon artist, and face painting as well as discovering Forest Grove’s community.
If you wish to participate and receive an assigned sidewalk square that comes with 48 pieces of chalk, please register at preregistration or the day of the event. The cost is $20. Proceeds fund Valley Art's ability to fund scholarships for high school students pursuing art at the college level. In addition, individuals may apply for scholarships that help cover costs of classes at Valley Art. This festival is the longest running event of its kind in Oregon.
Everyone is also encouraged to wander over to the Pacific University Campus to enjoy the annual Corn Roast sponsored by the Forest Grove and Cornelius Chamber of Commerce.
