There’s still time to register for tomorrow’s FREE yoga class! 🧘🏽 Join us on Friday, April 10 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm for Yoga for Liberation with Abby Knipp! This will be an inclusive class for all levels of experience. We will explore how we can sustain ourselves in the fight for justice and in creating the equitable and liberated world we all want to live in. Please bring your own yoga mat and two yoga blocks. If you don't have yoga mats or blocks, they are available in a limited supply. Once the class is finished, you're invited to enjoy a cup of tea and chat with some new friends. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Happening tomorrow! 🤩 Join us for a FREE writing workshop and poetry reading on Thursday, April 9 with Oregon’s Poet Laureate: Ellen Waterston! 🌱 Rewilding Words: Writing Workshop with Ellen Waterson ⏰ 4:00pm – 5:00pm Supplemented with handouts and using a variety of in-class approaches, this workshop will return writers of poetry and prose to the page with renewed commitment and inspiration. 📖 The Poetry Express: Presentation & Reading with Ellen Waterson ⏰ 6:00pm – 7:00pm In 2024, Waterston was named to a two-year term as the eleventh Poet Laureate of Oregon. Having so far visited twenty-two out of thirty-six counties across Oregon’s 96,000 square miles, Ellen Waterston will reflect on her first term and the Poetry in Public Places initiative she has underway statewide. Her presentation will also include readings of her work and others, including poems by students she has met during her travels.

❗️ 🐝 TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE NOW 🐝 ❗️ For the Adult Spelling Bee Fundraiser at Black Market Gourmet! 📅 Sunday, April 12, 2026 ⏰ 1:00pm – 3:00pm Catch the spelling bee buzz at Black Market Gourmet, 495 Central Avenue, Coos Bay, on Sunday, April 12 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Teams of undaunted locals will test their spelling abilities at Coos Bay Public Library Foundation’s Adult Spelling Bee fundraiser. Spectator tickets are available now at the library for $30. Bird-lovers rejoice– we’re having another FREE birdhouse building workshop this month! 🐦‍⬛ Young people aged 4-18 and their caregivers are invited to create a home for a bird using a kit from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
