IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM WASTE CONNECTIONS REGARDING HOLIDAY SERVICE

Starting May 25, 2026, Waste Connections of Oregon will no longer provide regular service on major holidays.

In the past, we have worked through all holidays; however, we believe it is important to give our front-line team members time off to spend with their families. We appreciate your understanding as we make this adjustment and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

New Holiday Schedule
• New Year’s Day
• Memorial Day
• 4th of July
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving
• Christmas

When your regular service day falls on one of the holidays listed above, your collection will move to the following day. For example, if your pickup is scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day), your waste will be collected on Tuesday. This one-day delay will continue throughout the week, with Friday customers receiving service on Saturday. If a holiday falls on a weekend, there will be no change to the schedule that week.

We have updated our calendars on our website and mobile app and plan to send an email notification regarding these changes. We will also use call blasts, text messaging, and social media announcements to help spread the word. We hope the cities and county can assist with outreach and help determine the most effective ways to do so.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we implement this new schedule. Our goal is to minimize disruption while supporting our employees’ well-being. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to your local office. Featured News by City of Coos Bay
