May 10–16, 2026 has been proclaimed National Police Week in Tualatin, recognizing the dedication, service, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers who work to protect our community every day.

Congress has designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day in honor of the federal, state, and municipal officers who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty, and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. On average, one law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty somewhere in the United States every 53 hours. Since the first known line-of-duty death in 1791, more than 26,000 U.S. law enforcement officers have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Law enforcement officers, including Tualatin Police Officers, serve as guardians of life and property and defenders of the individual rights of freedom. The City of Tualatin is proud of our law enforcement officers and recognizes their commitment to the public safety profession.

The Tualatin Police Department and its officers provide the highest quality services and are committed to the highest professional standards. Working in partnership with our community, they continue to meet the challenges of reducing crime, creating a safe environment, and improving quality of life for all.

This proclamation was introduced and adopted at the April 27, 2026 City Council Meeting.
We encourage our community to join us in recognizing National Police Week and thanking Tualatin Police Officers for their outstanding service to our community.
