The Coos History Museum invites the public to our September First Tuesday Talk on Tuesday, September 1, from 6:00-7:00 p.m., featuring author Lionel Youst. Youst will be discussing his new book In All the Wars: A Militia Soldier in Colonial Massachusetts, His Life and Times 1683-1758, a biography of Joseph Clesson, a soldier in the Colonial Wars.

Lionel Youst is a long-time resident of Coos Bay and has written several other books, including She's Tricky like Coyote: Annie Miner Peterson, an Oregon Coast Indian Woman (1997, 2004), and Coquelle Thompson, Athabaskan Witness: a Cultural Biography (with William R. Seaburg) (2002). During genealogical research, Lionel found out he is the sixth great-grandson of Joseph Clesson, a discovery that inspired this biography on Clesson.

This program will be hosted in-person at the Coos History Museum, with an admission price of $7 for non-members and FREE for CHM members.

Doors open at 5:30 pm with time to explore the museum. Advanced registration is encouraged. Reservations can be made online at https://cooshistory.org/event-registration/, by phone at 541-756 6320, or in person at the museum’s front desk. Walk-ins are welcome for all Tuesday Talk programs!
