Wishing you a safe and happy New Year! Our Administrative Offices will be closed tomorrow for New Year's Day, but our Patrol and Corrections Deputies are working their regular shifts.

If you are celebrating tonight remember these tips to help keep our communities safe:

🎉 Don't drink and drive. If you plan to drink, have a designated driver, take a cab, or stay the night.
🎉 Don't pressure others to drink alcohol and make sure non-alcoholic drinks are available.
🎉 Keep alcohol and other substances away from youth and pets.
🎉 Fireworks, music, and parties may stress your pets. Ensure pets are wearing ID tags with current information and they are safely secured before the party. Ensure pet licenses and microchips are updated so they can be easily reunited with you.
🎉 Communicate with neighbors before the celebration and work together to respectfully address noise levels and other potential disturbances. Featured News by Lincoln County Sheriff

Happy New Years! Featured News by Friends of Shore Acres State Park
The final King Tides of the season, the highest tide sequences of the winter on the Oregon Coast, will arrive January 1 through 4, 2026. It is important to remember that King Tides are not the same as High Surf Events:
King Tides are predictable and bring exceptionally high water levels that may cause minor flooding and offer a preview of how rising sea levels could shape our coastal communities in the future.

High Surf Events are generated by storm energy far out at sea, making them less predictable. High surf creates the dramatic waves that many visitors hope to see at Shore Acres State Park.

Both are remarkable to witness, but they also create extremely hazardous conditions if you are not careful.

⚠️ Watch from designated viewing areas such as Shore Acres State Park, Cape Arago, and the bluff overlooking Bastendorf Beach
⚠️ Stay off beaches, jetties, and logs
⚠️ Never turn your back on the ocean
⚠️ Do not underestimate the power of the surf
