Portland Thursday weather: It still doesn’t feel like fall yet, with sun and a high of 74

Published on: 09/22/2022

Description

Fall officially begins Thursday, but that doesn’t mean you should expect autumn weather yet.

The National Weather Service’s Portland office points out it was a somewhat windy night in the Gorge: “One particularly exposed PGE weather station reported gusts up to 50 mph overnight as onshore flow surged through the Gorge.”

That onshore flow means morning clouds in the Portland metro area will clear, producing blue skies and a high of 74 degrees Fahrenheit. The low will be about 52.

Friday will be about the same: 73 degrees and partly sunny.

Then it’ll warm up, the forecasters predict: 78 on Saturday, and 84 on Sunday and Monday.

Next week it should finally start to feel at least a little like fall, with cloudy skies and a high in the low 70s by Wednesday.
