OrpheusPDX presents “Scipio’s Dream” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as part of its 2025 season. The opera will be performed at Lincoln Performance Hall Aug. 2-3.

Producing an 18th Century opera and a contemporary work within a month’s time might seem hectic, but it has become a successful calling card for OrpheusPDX. The plucky opera company, now in its fourth year, will present “Scipio’s Dream” (“Il Sogno di Scipione”), an early opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and follows that with a two-person production about the iconic cellist Jacqueline du Pré.
