Medford Rotary: Crab Crack, Russia Relief, and Malawi Medicine

District Governor Chris Waugh visited the Medford Club on Tuesday, April 14th, at noon at the Rogue Valley Country Club. The lunch was an excellent taco bar complete with soup, salad and dessert. Not cheap, but very good.

President Marc Bayliss requested two major awards. First to Dr. Doug Smith, who has provided four decades of support for projects in Russia, delivering 18.2 million dollars in relief. Second to Mike Pastryk for chairing the Community Crab Crack, which grossed 46,000 dollars this year, supporting CASA and ACCESS.

Medford's other projects include 62,000 dollars to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, PowerPacks that provide weekend nutrition for elementary students, and a 50,000 dollar project in Malawi to provide medical vocational training plus medicines.

With seven new members already, the club wanted to talk about recruiting more. Governor Waugh facilitated a discussion on attracting new Rotarians.

The Medford Club sends greetings across District 5110. Go visit - you will enjoy it.
