Last week, May 3–9, 2026, we celebrated Public Service Recognition Week in Tualatin, recognizing the dedication, professionalism, and contributions of public employees who serve our community every day.

Public service is an honorable calling that includes a wide range of professions that help keep our community strong and connected. From providing recreational opportunities and maintaining public safety to improving transportation, protecting our environment, and supporting essential government operations, public employees play a vital role in the daily life of Tualatin.

Tualatin’s city employees contribute significantly to the quality of life in our community through their commitment to excellence, high ethical standards, and diverse skills. Their work helps make Tualatin a wonderful place to live, work, play, and volunteer.

Public Service Recognition Week also provided an opportunity to express appreciation for the many contributions public employees make to our daily lives and to recognize the important services they provide to the community.

This proclamation was introduced and adopted at the April 27, 2026 City Council Meeting.

We encourage our community to join us in recognizing Public Service Recognition Week and celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of public employees.
