Join us for the 5th Annual Women in Public Safety event on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, hosted at the Portland Police Bureau Training Division 10am-2pm.

This year marks the fifth annual Girl Cops Are Awesome event, which was first inspired in 2017 when a young girl struggled to find a police officer costume made for girls for Halloween. After her mother shared her daughter’s disappointment on social media, female officers from across the country began posting photos of themselves in uniform using the hashtag #GirlCopsAreAwesome.

While the event focuses on recruitment, it also serves as an opportunity to celebrate the dedication, bravery, and accomplishments of women in public safety while inspiring others in our community. This event is open to everyone, and people of all ages are welcome, so please bring friends and family. We look forward to seeing you there and continuing to grow this event together.
