Mingus Skateboard Park and Tennis Court Closure
On Thursday March 13, 2025 the City of Coos Bay’s Transportation and Facilities park staff discovered that the fence that separates the skate board park and the tennis court had been removed by an unknown person(s). This act of vandalism has left both city park amenities unsafe for use by the public. Furthermore, the vandals cut the cable that supports the tennis court net and damaged the perimeter fencing of both sites. City staff alerted the Coos Bay Police Department of the vandalism, and a report was made with the police department. It is unknown at this time how long the skateboard park and the tennis court will be closed. Staff are in the process of getting repairs/replacement costs and will make repairs as soon as possible. Initial estimates of damage are between $15,000 & $20,000. If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Coos Bay Police Department at 541-269-8911.Photos from Coos Bay - City Government's post Featured News by City of Coos Bay
