Heading to the Hillsboro Air Show? Help us keep the skies safe.  
   
Federal Air Marshals will be working alongside local law enforcement throughout the event to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. As part of the Transportation Security Administration, these federal law enforcement officers help protect airspace safety and security.  
   
During the air show, Air Marshals will be using drone detection technology to identify unauthorized aircraft operating in restricted airspace. Unauthorized drone activity can create serious safety risks for pilots, performers, and spectators.  
   
You may see Federal Air Marshals in uniform working with local public safety personnel during the event.  
   
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to keep this a safe and fun event for the entire community.

5/12/26 LCSO 26-2331 Lane County Sheriff’s deputies arrest man after vehicle pursuit   
  
On May 12th at about 6:30 am, a deputy observed a vehicle driving recklessly on Delta Highway.  When the Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, leading deputies on a short vehicle pursuit. The driver was later identified as 34-year-old Jeffrey Allen McGee.      
  
McGee attempted to flee eastbound on Beltline Highway towards Interstate-5. As McGee exited onto I-5, his vehicle lost control and collided with another vehicle.  McGee’s vehicle came to a stop on the side of the interstate. McGee fled on foot, running completely across Interstate-5. Motorists on the freeway had to come to a stop to avoid striking him.     
  
Deputies located McGee nearby and took him into custody.  McGee was arrested and lodged at the Lane County jail for the following charges.

-Assault in the third degree   
-Hit and run   
-Reckless driving   
-Reckless endangering   
-DUII
