🏛️ National Preservation Month Weekend 🏛️

National Preservation Month is here, and Albany is starting with a weekend full of local history, restored spaces, guided tours, and vintage charm. It is the kind of lineup that makes you look at old buildings a little differently, in the best way.

Check our event calendar for dates, times, ticket details, and registration information for each event.

• Albany Tweed Ride: Dress in tweed or period-inspired clothing, join the costume and best bike contests, and pedal through Albany’s National Historic Districts with stops that highlight historic buildings and local stories.

• Albany Streetcar History Tour: Take a narrated ride through historic Albany with Bill Maddy, who will share stories tied to streets, landmarks, neighborhoods, and the people who helped shape the city.

• Pioneering Women Walking Tour: Learn about influential women in Albany history, including Bessie Hale, the first Black woman business owner in Albany.

• Cumberland 134th Birthday Celebration and Open House: Step inside a beloved historic community building, learn about its restoration, and hear the church bell ring for the first time since its installation in the restored steeple.

• Albany Vintage Bicycle Show & Swap Meet: Explore a large display of vintage bicycles, meet fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy a nostalgic look at transportation, design, and collecting.

• Santiam Wagon Road Library Talk: Hear Marcia Morse share the story of one of Oregon’s early routes through the Cascade Range and its role in travel, trade, and settlement.
