HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW SIGNS?

Driving into Coos Bay just got a little more special! Brand-new Heritage All-Star Community signs were installed at the gateways to our city. These signs proudly celebrate Coos Bay’s recent designation as an Oregon Heritage All-Star Community, recognizing our city’s dedication to preserving and sharing its rich history.

The new signage not only welcomes visitors but also shines a spotlight on the museums, historic districts, Tribal partnerships, and cultural events that make Coos Bay one of a kind. It’s part of our ongoing effort to showcase the heritage that defines us and remind everyone—residents and visitors alike—that this is a community deeply proud of its past and invested in its future.

Next time you’re heading into town, take a look—you’ll see Coos Bay’s heritage proudly on display!Photos from Coos Bay - City Government's post Featured News by City of Coos Bay
GET YOUR BODY MOVING WITH THE LIBRARY

Are you looking to get a bit more movement into your life? The Coos Bay Public Library can help! The Library offers several programs that let you add movement while also having fun. If you enjoy dancing and listening to Latin and World Beats, Zumba classes meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. Adults and teens are invited to come and burn some calories with this fun dance workout from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wear athletic clothes and shoes and bring water!

If dancing isn’t your thing, try our Yoga classes on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 9-10 a.m. This easy beginner class is open to adults and teens and will help you gain or maintain flexibility while relaxing and letting go of the week’s stress! Do something good for your body and start your weekend feeling refreshed. Bring a yoga mat and water and wear comfortable clothes for this class.

Maybe you prefer to be outside? All ages are invited to join the Sole Mates’ Community Walk on the 4th Saturday of each month beginning at 10 a.m. Each month the walk will take place at a different location from the Walking Guide produced by this group. Hikes are beginner friendly, and everyone is encouraged to walk at their own pace. You can download the walking guide at https//wwwcoosbaylibrary.org/sole-mates or pick up a physical copy at the library so that you will always know where the next walk will be.

As always, Library programs are free to the public. So put on your comfortable clothes and get your body moving with the Library! Featured News by City of Coos Bay
