Description
Nutrition INSIDE, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of food for incarcerated individuals in Oregon, recently celebrated its one-year anniversary.
Since its foundation, the nonprofit has worked with farms and hunger-fighting charities and now delivers between 500 and 3,000 pounds of surplus food to correctional facilities across Oregon each week. The organization is volunteer-based and led by a group of young adults in the Portland area.
Co-founder Aidan O’Connor joins us for a conversation about the organization’s work. Also joining us is Noelle St John, a formerly incarcerated woman who works as an advisor for the organization.
“Think Out Loud®” broadcasts live at noon every day and rebroadcasts at 8 p.m.
