After deliberations that stretched over three days, jurors in the case of a man accused of fatally shooting his brother last year at the family’s popular recreational venue in Washington County told the judge Wednesday morning they were deadlocked.

Media Release November 12, 2025 On October 24, 2025, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) School Resource Deputy (SRD) received a report alleging a football coach at Toledo Junior/Senior High School had physically struck a student on school grounds. Deputies conducted a follow up investigation in coordination with the Lincoln County School District to assess the complaint, identify those involved, and ensure the continued safety of students. Following the investigation, Mr. Cross was issued a criminal citation for Harassment under Oregon law. His arraignment is scheduled for November 17, 2025. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students and staff within our schools.
