Police in Canby say they had to kill a black bear that wandered near a Burgerville and then near a Saturday market.

Officers responded just before 11 a.m. Saturday after a witness reported seeing a bear near the fast food restaurant on Southwest First Avenue. They then tracked the animal to private property near Northeast Third Avenue and North Locust Street.
